This policy explains what information is collected when you visit maplhome.com, use our live chat, or contact us, and how MAPL Home Loans (NMLS #2810066) ("MAPL," "we," "us") uses and shares it.
Please do not send sensitive details such as Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, or passwords through our live chat, text message, or email.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Live chat. If you use the chat on our site, we receive the messages you send and any name, email address, or phone number you choose to provide.
- 60-second loan match. Before showing your result, the loan match asks for your name, email address, and phone number. We receive those details together with your answers and the program you matched, and store them in our Google Workspace account so a loan officer can follow up with you.
- Text, email, and phone. If you text, email, or call us, we receive your phone number or email address and whatever you send or tell us.
Information collected automatically
- Advertising cookies. Our site uses Google Ads. Google places cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, your IP address, and your browser and device type.
- Analytics cookies. Our site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it. Google places cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, how long you stay, how you arrived at our site, your approximate location, and your browser and device type.
- Live chat. Our chat is provided by tawk.to. It places cookies and records your IP address, approximate location, browser and device type, and the pages you view on our site.
- Hosting. Our site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and details about each request in order to deliver and protect the site.
- Fonts. Our site loads fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when a page loads.
Our calculators
The DSCR calculator and the payment calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter in them are not sent to us and are not stored. The 60-second loan match is different: when you ask to see your result, your contact details and answers are sent to us as described above.
Loan applications
Links to start an application take you to a separate application portal at mapl.my1003app.com. Information you submit there is handled under the terms and privacy notices presented in that portal, not under this policy.
How we use information
- To answer your questions and respond to your requests
- To discuss mortgage products and services you ask us about, including by phone, text message, or email when you give us your contact details
- To measure and improve our advertising and our website
- To keep our site secure and prevent misuse
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations
How information is shared
Information is shared with the companies that provide services for our site. Each handles it under its own privacy policy:
- Google (advertising, analytics, fonts, and Google Workspace, where loan match details are stored): policies.google.com/privacy. Google may use the information it collects to show you our ads on other sites.
- tawk.to (live chat): tawk.to/privacy-policy
- Cloudflare (hosting): cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business.
Your choices
- Cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work.
- Google ads. You can control how Google personalizes ads at adssettings.google.com.
- Google Analytics. You can stop Google Analytics from collecting information about your visits by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Live chat. Using the chat is optional. You can email us instead.
- Calls, texts, and emails. If you gave us your contact details through the loan match, you can ask us to stop contacting you at any time. Reply STOP to any text message, or contact us using the details below.
- Your information. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information we hold about you, or to ask us to correct or delete it. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No website or method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee security.
Children
Our site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page.
